Child summary data for Language and Literacy, Math, and
Social and Emotional Development, respectively . This report
displays the likely skill levels associated with the November
and April means reported in Report
1 - sort of a picture of a representative child
from participating Portrait programs. Skills that are learned
are marked with an "x." Skills that are not learned
are left blank.
What's the
Story?
In the area of Language and Literacy our
Portrait Child will have learned several new capabilities.
For example, s/he will have learned to name up to 10 letters
including the first letters in familiar words. The child
will also be able to write letter-like shapes as well as
understand and use an increasingly complex vocabulary. Additional
examples are provided in Report
2: Average Skill Level - Language and Literacy.
In the area of Math our Portrait Child
is able to count beyond 10 objects and determine if groups
are equal to each other. The child can also estimate which
of several groups has more objects and can use one-to-one
correspondence to create equal groups. The child also demonstrates
addition, subtraction, geometry and time concept skills.

In the area of Social and Emotional Development
our Portrait Child is able to use appropriate words, gestures,
and signs to communicate wants and needs. The child is also
able to take turns in conversations, follow rules, make
transitions during activities, and resolve conflicts. Additional

4: Average Skill Level - Social and Emotional Development.
