Galileo K-12 Online

System Overview

Galileo K-12 Online Instructional Improvement and Effectiveness System from Assessment Technology Incorporated is comprehensive, standards-based, and research supported. The system provides an array of standards-aligned and innovative curriculum, assessment, instructional effectiveness, and reporting tools. Use of the system facilitates advancements in teaching strategies, assessments, and implementation of instructional effectiveness initiatives.

Assessments within the system are valid, reliable, and aligned to standards including Common Core, Next Generation Science, and local standards. Galileo’s testing interface offers streamlined navigation and supports testing tools similar to those students are likely to encounter in statewide testing (e.g. calculators, marked-for-review, strike-through and note capabilities). Dashboard information provides ready access to actionable, reliable, and valid data at teacher and administrator levels. Instructional Dialogs support building and implementing local online district/charter specific curricula with units, lesson plans, homework assignments and formative assessments. The instructional effectiveness component offers educator rating scales aligned to the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTasc) and Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISSLC). Additionally, state, local, or with permission, third party rating scales may be imported for use in Galileo. The system also contains a Score Compiler that compiles and weights data from multiple sources (e.g., student performance data, educator proficiency ratings, surveys) to generate an individual instructional effectiveness score.

System management tools assist educators in establishing instructional goals reflecting local curriculum, assessing goal attainment, forecasting standards mastery, and using assessment information to guide differentiated instruction and professional development.

Built on the principles of science and supported by research, Galileo is guided by a vision that everyone should benefit from the opportunities and transformations of technology. It is ATIís goal and privilege to contribute to the advancement of educational technology through ongoing research and development initiatives. Galileo K-12 Online continues to advance in pursuit of this goal and as educator needs, federal and state requirements, research, and technology evolve.
