The Information Technology (IT) Department plays a significant role in the daily functioning and in the long term planning of ATI. The IT Department is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining system architecture, optimizing performance of all hardware and software used to deliver Galileo services to ATI clients, performing client and in-house technical support, and managing the client data import and export programs.
Position Description:
The primary function of the two Associate Systems Administrators is to work together to ensure that the company computers, local area network, databases, and web/application servers run effectively and efficiently. An additional function of these two positions is to perform uploads of client Student Information System (SIS) enrollment and demographic information into the Galileo database, managing the Galileo Data Import (GDI) program as well as exports of student performance data from the Galileo database, managing the Galileo Data Export (GDE) program. This position 1) monitors network/server performance and ensures continued operation of IT systems; 2) performs server/hardware upgrades of all Galileo application-related systems; 3) ensures company assets are tracked in a centralized database; 4) performs in-house desktop and software troubleshooting and new end-user desktop system implementation; 5) serves as a back-up to the Desktop Support Engineer for technical/desktop support; 6) is responsible for developing and implementing a backup plan for file servers and all databases, and; 7) acts as part of an IT after-hours emergency response team, acting independently and coordinating with the Department Director and Systems Engineer when necessary to resolve server/hardware issues during response activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities related to local network architecture
- Assist the Department Director with architecture/planning of the ATI file, application and database servers
- Responsible for server/hardware upgrades, of application-related (Galileo) systems using plans coordinated with the Department Director and Systems Engineer
- Assist the Systems Engineer in maintaining up-to-date, accurate documentation of the ATI network (LAN and WAN)
- Assist the Systems Engineer with security management and planning
- Responsibilities related to local network operation
- Responsible for web/database/file server and domain controller availability, security, performance and maintenance
- Monitor server performance and event logs to evaluate need for preventative action in advance of problems
- Act in a timely fashion to respond to any server problems
- Coordinate server response with Systems Engineer and Department Director to ensure effective intra-departmental communication
- Perform additional system oversight during critical times (e.g. training and sales presentations)and respond to potential problems
- Responsible for creating/updating and implementing the ATI data backup plan
- Act as part of a team responsible for responding to after-hours server-related emergencies
- ATI user desktop support
- Act as alternate to the IT Support Staff in performing ATI desktop computer maintenance and support
- Data and Database Responsibilities
- SQL Support - Responsible for maintenance and backup
- Ensure the IT Asset Tracking database is operational and available for Desktop/Support Engineer and IT Support Specialist to maintain accurate asset tracking information
- Microsoft Exchange – Assist the Systems Engineer with maintenance, performance and backup;
- Responsible for exporting client data using the Galileo Data Export program;
- Responsible for the uploading of data, provided by clients, to the Galileo Online Applications in a timely manner (Galileo Data Import)
- Assist the Desktop Support Engineer in receiving/responding to client technical support calls and emails and tracking identified issues to closure and performing post-closure client notification
- Enter all client contact and support cases into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application
- Responsible for entering known application issues into the bug tracking system
- Responsible for ensuring company assets are tracked in a centralized database
- Assist the Desktop Support Engineer in importing external test data (AIMS, CST, etc.) into the Galileo database and tracking all provided data until uploaded (Test Data Import)
- Participate in the planning and implementation of network upgrades/enhancements
- Provide in-house desktop and software troubleshooting as needed
- Act as part of a team responsible for responding to after-hours server-related emergencies
- Responsible for working safely and keeping work area clean and free of any safety hazards
- Responsible for following all company and department policies and procedures.

Minimum Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or 5 years related experience.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) highly desirable
- Extensive working knowledge of Windows Desktop/Server OS, Windows networking, and TCP/IP
- In-depth PC and Mac hardware and software knowledge
- Familiarity with the following preferred
- Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
- MS SQL (2005, 2008) - familiarity with MS SQL database maintenance/backup, file groups and high-availability environments
